RescueGroups.org Provides Unmatched Security

It's hard to find organizations that are practicing security as much as they are talking about it. RescueGroups.org takes security and the protection of your information very seriously, and we're taking steps to protect your organization's vital information.

The Pet Adoption Portal provides a secure SSL web site that no adoption listing service provides. That means that your password and information can't be intercepted. And, we hope to provide an SSL option for our web site service soon. We also provide individual user accounts for your volunteers; with the web site and data management services you can grant only the minimum required access to your volunteers. Everything that your volunteers do on your web site or the Pet Adoption Portal is logged.

Your pets are more secure on your RescueGroups.org service and the Pet Adoption Portal than if you were to list them individually on each of the adoption listing sites. The Portal performs routine backups of your pet data as well as the pictures. We also never actually remove your pets from our database – you can even recover a deleted pet! Most of the adoption listing web sites remove your pets and pictures immediately when you delete them.

One of the best advantages to your RescueGroups.org service is that you can recover your pet list. In the past, if a disgruntled volunteer deleted all of your pets from a site like [organization], they'd be gone forever with no way to restore them. However, with our service, you can recover those pets and pictures, and re-post them if necessary. You would also be able to see on the Portal who deleted the pets and when.

So, you're doing the right thing by trusting us with your pets and organization information, and we'll continue to do the right thing for you, your pets and your organization's information.

New Email Service by Zimbra

RescueGroups.org is now providing a new email service using the Zimbra Collaboration Suite. Zimbra is a very powerful application that can help your organization communicate more effectively by using shared email folders, shared calendar, shared address books, a global address list, and distribution lists. Zimbra includes both an attractive and highly functional web interface, as well as IMAP and POP accounts. It even comes with a mobile version and Outlook integration.

Take a look at Zimbra here: http://www.zimbra.com

Our Zimbra service is available now. Although other Zimbra resellers charge $50 or more a year per mailbox, we are currently offering the service for $35/year per user. Each user comes with 1 GB of email storage. Please contact us today if you'd like to learn more about the service.

Need your ideas -- Mobile web site service

Nowadays, everything seems to be going mobile. RescueGroups.org is considering offering a service to make your web site accessible to both the public and your volunteers via mobile phones.

Would you like potential adopters or your web site users to be able search your pets or get event information from anywhere? Have you ever been out at an event or a home visit and wished you could access your RescueGroups.org web site to view completed applications or update an animal's information?

As technology advances, so do the opportunities we have to help your organization communicate, manage, and keep your data up-to-date. We would love to hear what you think about a mobile version of your web site and a way to access all of your organization's information on the go. Please let us know if this is something that would benefit you and your rescue.
